L’eyeliner, ce produit de maquillage aussi indispensable que difficile à manier. Il est l’arme fatale pour un regard de biche, pour un maquillage des yeux sophistiqué ou juste pour camoufler un regard un peu fatigué. Mais il est aussi le produit le plus frustrant d’une trousse à maquillage. Avec lui on est jamais à l’abri d’un trait trop épais, pas assez net, qui bave ou pire: on réussit enfin un oeil parfaitement et que l’autre n’est qu’une catastrophe.

Eyeliner, this wonderful makeup product is as essential as it is painful to use. It is the ultimate weapon for a beautiful cat eye, a sophisticated makeup look or just to hide a tired face. It is also the most frustrating and hard to use makeup product ever. A “too-thick” line, not neat enough or worse, one eye perfect and the other one not, is a complete mess!

L’eyeliner parfait (à savoir celui qui est noir, vraiment noir, celui qui ne bouge pas tout au long de la journée, dont la pointe n’est pas trop dure, pas trop souple, qui permet un tracé facile…) est très difficile à trouver. Impossible? Je ne crois pas!
Alors que je recherchais un nouvel eyeliner noir à tester ma conseillère m’a montré la dernière nouveauté de Chanel, Signature.
The perfect eyeliner, that is too say, a real black eyeliner that doesn’t budge, with a tip neither too soft nor too hard and that is easy to use.. is very hard to find! Impossible? Not so sure!

Je dois avouer que j’étais d’abord sceptique. Chanel n’est pas vraiment reconnu pour un maquillage des yeux avec une pigmentation de folie ou de la longue tenue puis je l’ai testé et là…

Il s’agit d’un eyeliner avec la pointe feutre. Il a une particularité qui en tant que française m’a rappelé des souvenirs studieux. C’est un stylo dans lequel il faut inserer une cartouche d’encre noire. Cette gestuelle me rappelle mon stylo plume d’écolière. Je me suis demandé s’il était rechargeable et si il suffisait de changer la cartouche pour lui donner une seconde vie mais d’après Chanel, ce n’est pas prévu et à la reflexion je ne pense pas que ce soit pertinent de conserver le même stylo et donc le même pinceau après autant d’utilisation.
La pointe feutre est en réalité plus un pinceau qu’un feutre. Il s’agit de poils efilés qui permettent une application modulable. On peut créer un trait plus ou moins épais selon l’angle d’application.
It’s a felt tip eyeliner. It is a pen with a cartridge that you insert into it and this brings back memories of school! I asked my retail advisor if it was refillable but according to her it there are no plans of it being refillable and to be honest I am not sure it would be relevant to refill it as I feel it would not be the most sanitary to keep the brush the same but change the ink!
The felt tip is actually more like a brush. It has sharp hairs that allow you to draw a line. This allows you to build on the product as you prefer you can create a dramatic or very natural line with relative ease.
La couleur est intense, un vrai noir, bien noir avec fini mat. L’application est très intuitive, le pinceau glisse tout seul sur la paupière en delivrant la juste dose d’encre à la fois opaque et homogène. Pour le coup, on peut réaliser son trait en un passage sans besoin de retouches. Avec la tranche étroite du pinceau on peut réaliser un trait fin et juste souligner la frange de cils superieurs alors qu’avec la tranche plus épaisse on peut réaliser un trait épais et graphique pour un vrai regard de biche.
The color is intense, a real black with a matte finish. The application is very fluid and feels instinctive, the brush slides easily delivering the perfect amount of product with an even and opaque finish. One swipe and you’re good to go! With the narrow part of the brush you can create a fine line and with the wider part of the brush, you can create a dramatic cat eye.
Au niveau de la tenue, c’est là où je suis le plus impressionnée. En general plus la couleur est intense plus il y a de risque de “coulure” ou de transfert. Là, ce n’est pas du tout le cas. Il tient toute la journée sans couler ni faire de trace. Un sans faute je vous dis!
About the longevity of the eyeliner, this is what impressed me the most. In general, when the shade is intense it tends to budge and transfer to the upper lid. Here it’s not the case. It stays put all day long without budging nor transferring! Perfect score!
C’est simple. Je ne le quitte plus. Il accompagne tous mes looks du moment. Il souligne d’un trait épais et mat mes looks sophistiqués et intensifie ma frange de cils avec un trait plus fin pour les jours où je me maquille moins.
I simply can’t put it down. I wear it almost every day. It underlines my sophisticated look and intensifies my lashline for a more casual day look.
Je crois que j’ai trouvé mon nouvel eyeliner preferé!
