I have already introduced you to one of my foundation crushes in this early 2018, the Skin Longwear Weightless Foundation from Bobbi Brown and I promised you a review of my second foundation crush, well here it is!

Team Water Fresh – Double Wear Nude, Estée Lauder*
Il est l’allié d’un maquillage du teint léger et sans défaut, le fameux look Nude. Sa texture est aussi légère que de l’eau et sa formule est enrichie en super ingredients tels que la pomme, le litchi et la pastèque pour preserver l‘hydratation de notre peau toute la journée. Il contient également un extrait d’algue Laminaire Saccharina qui permet de contrôler la secretion de sebum et donc preserver un teint mat plus longtemps. Il contient également un SPF 30 ce qui est très élevé pour un fond de teint et donc parfait pour une protection de ville.
It’s the ally of a light and flawless complexion, the ultimate NUDE Look. The texture is light like water and the formula is packed with super ingredients such as Apple, litchi or watermelon to keep the skin hydrated throughout the day. It also contains an algae extract “Laminaire Saccharina” which allows to keep the shine at bay for a longer time. It also has an SPF 30 which is great for a foundation and therefore perfect for a city protection.
Double Wear Nude est très agréable à porter, sa texture légère comme un serum à base d’eau procure un effet de fraicheur sur la peau qui reste hydratée et confortable tout au long de la journée. Sa couvrance est légère mais modulable donc on peut vraiment travailler son teint en fonction de la dose de produit. Il camoufle bien les imperfections et les rougeurs et floutte les pores. Le fini est imperceptible, il a un vrai effet peau nue, notre peau mais en mieux! Le rendu est mat mais devient glowy tout au long de la journée. Glowy mais pas oily!! Sa tenue est impeccable toute la journée, il n’accentue pas mes zones de sécheresse, ni ne file dans mes plis.
Double Wear Nude is very nice to wear, the texture is extremely light-like a water based serum and imparts to the skin a fresh effect. The skin stays hydrated and comfortable throughout the day. The coverage is light but buildable so we can build up to a moderate coverage by adding some more product. It hides the blemishes and redness and blurs the pores. The finish is imperceptible, a real skin like finish, our skin but better! The finish is matte but gets glowy thouhghout the day. Dewy but not oily! The lasting is perfect all day long and doesn’t cling to dry patches, doesn’t move or crack up.
C’est mon fond de teint chouchou pour un maquillage quotidien léger et longue tenue, il permet de créer une base parfaite et de conserver une peau hydratée toute la journée. Sa couvrance n’est cependant pas suffisante en période de crise, (à comprendre la période hormonale que l’on adore toutes) où mes rougeurs sont atténuées mais pas totalement camouflées. Le seul petit bémol que je lui trouve est l’absence de pompe sur le flacon comme son grand frère Double Wear. Ce n’est pas gênant en soit mais la pompe serait tellement plus pratique…
It’s my favorite foundation for a natural and long lasting every day makeup. It creates the most beautiful and perfect base and keeps the skin well hydrated. The coverage is not enough when the skin is acting crazy (you know that famous period of the month), my redness is reduced but not fully hidden. The only drawback to this foundation for me is the absence of a pump in the bottle like its older Double Wear brother. It’s not that bad but honestly a pump would have been way more practical!
Team Water Infused – Lingerie De Peau Aqua Nude, Guerlain
Un fond de teint infusé d’eau, léger et ultra hydratant. Toujours dans la tendance du maquillage nude effet seconde peau, ce nouveau fond de teint Guerlain a une texture fluide mais plus épaisse que le Double Wear Nude d’Estée Lauder. Sa formule contient une technologie Guerlain dite “Aqua Plump” qui maintient l’hydratation de la peau toute la journée. Il contient également un indice de protection 20 qui correspond à une protection de ville.
A water infused foundation, light and extremely hydrating. Still adhering to the Nude makeup trend, this new foundation by Guerlain has a creamy texture but thicker than the Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude. The formula contains the “Aqua Plump” Guerlain Technology that maintains the hydration all day long. It also had a 20 protection index, perfect for city protection.
Il est très agréable à porter et est confortable sur la peau. La texture est fluide, fraiche et il se fond très bien sur la peau. Comme tous les produits Guerlain il est légèrement parfumé de l’emblématique fragrance de violette des Météorites. La couvrance est moyenne et modulable. Le rendu sur la peau est imperceptible, mat mais lumineux et très naturel. Un vrai teint de poupée sans la sensation de porter quelque chose. Les petites imperfections sont camouflées et les rougeurs sont atténuées. Vu son pouvoir hydratant, les zones de sécheresses ne sont pas marquées et je lui trouve même un coté “apaisant“. Il devient légèrement glowy au long de la journée mais pas de brillance excessive et sa tenue est excellente.
It is very comfortable to wear on the skin. The texture is creamy, fresh and blends perfectly into the skin. As always with Guerlain, the product is slightly fragranced with this wonderful scent of violet, the scent of the iconic Météorites. The coverage is medium to buildable. The effect on the skin is imperceptible, matte but luminous and very natural. A true doll complexion but with the feeling of wearing nothing. The blemishes are covered and the redness is reduced on the skin. As it is very hydrating the dry patches are not emphasised and I also find this foundation is quite soothing to my skin. It is very long lasting and It grows dewy throughout the day but with no excessive shine.
Ce fond de teint est mon deuxième coup de coeur de la rentrée. La texture est très douce et enveloppe la peau d’un voile de couleur uniforme et sans effet de matière. C’est mon allié pour créer un maquillage nude, longue tenue et plus couvrant. J’adore son odeur de météorites et son pouvoir hydratant qui apaise ma peau déshydratée. Il me fait un teint parfait même en période de crise et reste en place toute la journée. Seul petit conseil que je peux vous donner: tester bien votre teinte en boutique car elles paraissent soit très dorées soit très roses sur la main.
This foundation is my second favorite foundation this fall. The texture is soft and it creates a perfect and flawless veil on the face. It is my ally for a nude yet long lasting and more coverage makeup. I absolutely love the Météorites Fragrances and its’ hydrating power soothes my dehydrated skin. My complexion is always perfect even during the famous period. The only advice I can give you is that you have to try the shades in store before because they all appear to be either too warm or too cool on the hand.
Team Flawless Matte – Encre de Peau All Hours, Yves Saint Laurent
Un fond de teint haute couvrance, haute tenue au fini mat parfait. La tendance du maquillage Nude ne signifie pas forcement couvrance légère à moyenne. En effet, ce nouveau né de la gamme Encre De Peau d’YSL est un fond de teint haute couvrance et haute tenue, sans effet de matière. Un teint parfait, une peau sans défaut et ça tout au long de la journée! Il contient lui aussi un SPF 20. Sa texture est similaire à celle d’une crème-gel, elle est douce, fraiche et est légèrement parfumée d’une odeur qui me rappelle celle du bambou.
A full coverage, long lasting with a flawless matte finish foundation. The trend of Nude makeup doesn’t necessarily only mean light to medium coverage. Indeed, this newborn in the YSL family, Encre de Peau, is a full coverage yet imperceptible long lasting foundation. A perfect complexion and flawless skin all day long! It also has an SPF 20. The texture is similar to a cream-gel texture, it is soft, fresh and slightly fragranced with a scent that reminds me of bamboo.
Ce fond de teint a fait beaucoup de bruit dans la beauty community pour son rendu et sa tenue exceptionnelle mais aussi pour sa composition. En effet, elle présente en troisième ingrédient de l‘alcool dénaturé ce qui a déclenché un mini vent de panique. En vraie beauty detective j’ai mené l’enquête et j’ai trouvé la réponse auprès de l’équipe YSL maquillage et de la Direction Scientifique elle même. (Au passage merci beaucoup à l’équipe pour votre disponibilité). L’alcool dénaturé (qui est en fait un alcool qui est traité pour ne plus pouvoir être bu) dans la composition de fond de teint n’est pas nouveau, il permet de conserver le produit, d’augmenter son adhérence et sa tenue. Beaucoup de fonds de teint en contiennent, notamment le fameux Armani Luminous Silk que tout le monde adore. Mais comme en cuisine, l’alcool s’évapore très rapidement et n’impacte donc pas fondamentalement la peau. Soyez donc rassurés quant à sa composition qui n’a en fait rien de dramatique pour la peau et notre collagène comme on a pu l’entendre.
This foundation has taken the beauty community by storm for its wonderful finish and longevity but also for its ingredient composition. Indeed it features Denatured Alcohol in the third position which triggered a panic wave. As I am a real beauty detective, I investigated and I found the answer with the YSL makeup team and the Scientific department itself. Denatured Alcohol (that is actually alcohol treated to make it non drinkable) in foundations’ composition is not a new thing, it acts as a preservative, but it also helps with the adhesion of the product and the longevity of the product on the skin. A lot of foundations have denatured alcohol, among them is the famous Armani Luminous Silk that everyone raves about. As in the kitchen, Alcohol evaporates very quickly and then doesn’t fundamentally impact the skin. You can now be reassured, the composition is not as problematic for the skin and destructive to our collagen layer as is being said…
Revenons au fond de teint lui même. Le fini sur la peau est complètement mat, il se fixe plutôt rapidement et je trouve plus facile de le travailler zone par zone pour un rendu encore plus parfait. Le produit se fond à la perfection et crée une base parfaite. Il est moins hydratant que le Guerlain ou le Estée Lauder mais avec une bonne routine de soin en dessous, la peau reste confortable et ne tiraille pas.
Now back to the foundation itself. The finish is completely matte, it sets quite quickly and I think it it easier to work with the product by applying it to one area of the face at a time for a flawless result. The product blends into the skin seamlessly and creates the most perfect base. It is less hydrating than the Guerlain or the Estée Lauder but with an appropriate skincare routine the skin stays comfortable.
Il est mon allié pour un maquillage plus soutenu et globalement plus sophistiqué comme un maquillage de soirée. Je suis vraiment impressionnée par son fini mat qui reste mat toute la journée et même la nuit. J’étais un peu inquiète pour ma peau sensible qui en général tolère mal les fonds de teint (très) longue tenue au fini mat. Elle a tendance à se défendre en sécrétant du sebum et donc me faire plein de boutons. Cela fait maintenant 3 semaines que je l’utilise et je n’ai rien à déclarer. Ma peau sensible le valide totalement et j’en suis soulagée! Pour moi c’est le fond de teint parfait pour les soirées ou les journées à rallonge que l’on doit surmonter avec brio!
It is my ally for a more sophisticated makeup look such as a party makeup look. I am impressed by its matte finish that stays matte all day long and even the night. I was a bit worried for my sensitive skin that doesn’t really like matte and long lasting foundations. It tends to secrete some sebum as a defence reaction and tends to then break out. BUT I have been testing this foundation for the last 3 weeks and it is safe to say, that my worries were unfounded. My senstive skin likes it and I am relieved! For me it’s the perfect foundation for parties or never ending days that we have to get through like a boss!

The base. For me it is the most important part of makeup. With a perfect base you can only wear mascara and a lippie and you will look fabulous. (Of course you will look gorgeous on a no makeup day too 😉) Anyways, a perfect base will help you feel confident and yourself but better (at least this is how I feel). But the perfect base routine is very hard to find. It depends on your skin type and your will but also on the quality of the products you use. But we are makeup addicts (Junkie, hoarder) and we LOVE testing products. Hunting for the perfect formulation, perfect result, perfect finish and all this for more than 3 hours. Because we are makeup junkie but we also have a life, a job, activities and we can’t just stay home looking at our perfect base like “oh raining today, not going out will ruin my makeup “😂 Makeup needs to be LIFE-Proof!!
