CHANEL – DANS LA LUMIERE DE L’ETE

Oh Summer! Oh Chanel! IMG_6754

I was invited by my Chanel counter to spend a private moment with the Chanel French National Makeup artist to discover the new summer collection – Dans la lumière de l’été – “Through the summer light”. I immediately said yes to such a crazy opportunity. We spent an hour together discovering the collection and we had a great chit-chat about what to expect next from Chanel.

I had a full face makeover with all the collection and some beauty tips to share with you all!! Ready???

In the spirit of adventure, a new makeup collection unveils a shimmering desert oasis. Brilliant coppers and sandy browns give soft intensity to the eyes, while pinks and oranges sparkle on the lips

This collection is inspired by the desert. I would like to say by the episode of “Sex and the city” in Dubai. Sea, Sand, Sun, warm tones, sunkissed cheeks and shimmery eyes.

The collection features:

  •  2 limited edition Stylo yeux waterproof:
    • Oasis which is a metallic green
    • Sable which is a metallic rose gold (very similar to Ardent from last autumn)
  • One limited edition quad “multi effect Quadra eyeshadow” Empreinte du Desert
  • 5 levres scintillantes
  • 2 Les beiges blush duos N°1, N°2
  • 4 new nail polishes that are for now not LE.

After that full makeover of course I did some damage. Ladies and Gentlemen please let me introduce to my Chanel HAUUUULIN’.IMG_6760

First, let me tell you, I didn’t want to pick the quad as I have been very disappointed by Chanel Quads. Not enough pigmented and powdery. But to my greatest surprise, this one was not. It was creamy and pigmented. The metallic sheen was stronger than I could expect and the green shade is the real winner in this quad. It is seriously beautiful. Oops picked it!

Empreinte du desert – one swipe, no base

The lasting was very good (PERFECT). 8 hours without creasing AT ALL (with  UD primer potion).

On the other hand it wouldn’t be surprising to know that I picked the stylo eyeshadow in oasis. First, because I find their new formulation amazing and second because I love green! I only picked Oasis because Sable was very similar to ardent. IT IS VERY WATERPROOF. Had a teary eye Sunday and the line didn’t budge AT ALL. (Topped with the green shadow from the quad it is even more metallic!!)

Oasis at the Top and Pacific green from spring 2016

Oasis has more of a golden undertone whereas pacific green more of a silver undertone. Oasis seemed more water-resistant.

Les beiges duos:

That beige packaging!!

N°1 Is more of a contouring powder featuring a bronzer with red undertones to mimic shadows beautifully and help to add structure to your face. And a lighter shade which can be used as a 3 motion to add a beautiful sun-kissed skin glow.

N°2 is a blush and highlight duo featuring a vibrant reddish coral shade and a beautiful shimmering beige with a golden undertone.

Both shades of the duos can be used by themselves or you can swipe to combine the duos to more a subtle result. Duo n°1 can be used as a bronzer if you combine both shades for example.

Both powders are very finely milled and more pigmented than regular Les beiges Powder. The blusher is super pigmented and blend beautifully into the skin. I achieved a prettier result by dabbing my brush on my cheeks instead of swiping if it makes sense. The contouring duo is more hard in the pan (especially the darker shade) but according to the makeup artist it is on purpose to make sure it doesn’t “stain” the face with 2 brown lines under your cheeks. But be careful! It remains very pigmented with only one brush swipe. Don’t worry fair-skinned fellows it is beautiful even on fair skins like mine.

And I got a cute gift! A Chanel palette holder!! (Or documents.. 😂)

This is the result on my face!! The overall look is very natural and summery. I tried the Dimension Mascara which is more creamy/glossy than the Le volume formula. It doesn’t give volume but more definition. You can see for yourself. I must say I experienced some black fall out at the end of the day ( as I got with Le volume in noir kohl) Oasis eyeliner is on my waterline which makes my brown iris pop more than usual.

I have the Empreinte du desert Quad on my lids and both Les beiges duos on my face. Foundation is Perfection lumière Velvet and Lips is Nars Carmen Topped with Chanel rouge coco shine in Boy to make it darker and glossier.

I had fun playing with my new quad, seriously if you close your eyes you wouldn’t know it is Chanel. Not powdery, pigmented, smooth and no fall out! Seriously, NONE. I think this is the real surprise from this collection. AN ACTUAL GREAT QUAD. I created different makeup looks with it, from very natural to more intense and seriously Loved it!

In a nutshell, this meeting was a great experience. We could share our mutual passion for makeup and he gave me some hints concerning Chanel next collections. They have a new makeup designer, Lucia Pica (a former Nars Girl) since January 16 and the next Fall collection will be her first release. She has a more “avant-garde” style close to Nars and Mac.He couldn’t tell me more about it, but it is all going to be about RED and asked me to get ready for a mind-blowing collection. “FORGET ALL YOU KNOW ABOUT CHANEL BEAUTY” he said. WOOOOO EXCITING!!

Of course, you will know as soon as I know more about all these crazy newbies!

Have you picked anything from this collection?

Thank you for stopping by today!

XXXx,
